OTP System (Character Security)

Learn how OTP protects your character, how to disable it temporarily, and how to register a new computer as trusted.

The OTP system records the computers used to access your character to help prevent account theft. This guide explains how you can temporarily disable OTP, log in from a new computer, and improve your account security.

How does OTP work?

OTP automatically records the MC-HD address of the computer you use to access your character and blocks access from other computers. Active OTP may be why you cannot access the same character from your second computer or workplace. While OTP is enabled, only your previously used trusted computers can access your account; you can view login records on the OTP Settings page.

Temporarily disabling OTP

  1. Log in to the panel. Click your username in the top-right corner and select Profile.
  2. Open OTP Settings in the left-hand menu and click Send confirmation code.
  3. Copy the OTP code sent to your email address. Enter the 6-digit verification code and your 8-digit Item Seal password in the form.
  4. Click DISABLE OTP. The process is complete when you see the OTP Disabled notification.

Retrieving your Item Seal password

  1. Open the Overview page under My Account in the panel.
  2. Click Send my details.
  3. Check your email. Your 8-digit Item Seal password will be sent to your email address.

Adding a new computer and automatic reactivation

  1. Disable OTP using the steps above.
  2. Log in to the game from the new computer within 10 minutes.
  3. You do not need to enable OTP manually; it reactivates automatically when the time expires.

OTP reactivates after 10 minutes

For your security, OTP automatically reactivates 10 minutes after you disable it. The computers you recently logged in from are saved as trusted, so you do not need to enable OTP again for those same computers. Disabling OTP can put your character's security at risk.

Account security recommendations

  • Do not reuse your character ID and password on other servers. If you have used the same credentials elsewhere, your character may be at risk: account thieves could access it and steal your items.
  • Keep OTP active. However, it does not provide 100% security because all computers registered with your current OTP can access your account.
  • Enable two-factor authentication as well to improve your account security.
